Park Sun-Young (Hangul: 박선영; born May 30, 1989), better known as Hyomin, is a South Korean singer and actress. Like fellow teammates Jiyeon and Eunjung, she rose to prominence as a member of the girl group T-ara. In the group, she is a vocalist, rapper, and as of June 14, 2011, the current leader.

2006-2009: Early Work

She started as a model before debuting with T-ara. She was a trainee under JYP Entertainment and was considered to be a replacement for Hyuna, who was a member of the Wonder Girls in 2007. Before being casted by Core Contents Media, Park Sun-Young started appearing in music videos like SS501's Unlock, SG Wannabe's Smooth Break-Up, and FT Island's Heaven music videos. She was a famous internet Ulzzang before she debuted. She was arranged by Core Contents Media to be featured in some of her labelmates' songs prior to her debut. This included Hwang Jung Eum, the Colour Pink project by Seeya, Davichi, and Black Pearl. She has also performed on a music show with Seeya during their promotions for the song, "Hot Girl".

2009-Present: T-ara

Hyomin debuted with her group, T-ara on July 29, 2009. On June 14, 2011, Core Contents Media announced that Hyomin would take over leadership as T-ara's 4th Leader for their comeback album, John Travolta Wannabe, and Japanese promotions.

Musical Works

She has participated in the musical "I Really Really Like You" in 2009. She participated in the Wonder Women Project Group with label mates Seeya and Davichi along with teammates, Jiyeon and Eunjung. She has particpated in the OST for SBS's drama Coffee House and also collaborated with Brave Brothers for their digital single Beautiful Girl.

Acting

She starred in the drama, My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox as Ban Seon Nyuh. Hyomin will make her big screen debut in a horror film, Gisaeng Ryung, playing the role of a bright and outgoing high school student named "Yurin". She was also a fixed cast member of KBS's variety show, Invincible Youth. She was the one of the seven original members and one of the four that remained after the show experienced member changes.
