Blink 182 - Up All Night [Audio]

Pop punk band Blink 182 has finally released a new song called "Up All Night". It has been almost ten years since the band has released any new material and fans have been waiting for this moment to happen. While the song isn't really exactly something I entirely expected from Tom, Mark, and Travis, it's still a decent song. Though, I could also be cutting them some slack because I'm just glad they're finally releasing new material. I'll probably have to give this song a lot more listens to be able to give a better opinion of it.

Well I'll spare you my incessant rambling and you let you check out the song yourself. You can do so by checking the video below.

  1. These guys rock. They mean much more to me than just my favorite band. I've got a lot of memories of my brother and my friends all because of their music.

Anyway, I was way hyped during the release of this song but I will admit at first listen it didn't really get to me. Probably because I had such high expectations for their song and was probably expecting something along their self-titled album. Of course, they have to change that because even if you look at their past albums, their sounds change in each one and not just because their drummers switched. They really develop their music and put so much into it that I just can't help but like it and put it on endless repeat.

I also appreciate the fact that they mix in the sounds of their other bands, though I like +44 then Boxcar Racer then the Transplants then Angels and Airwaves, in that order. I think Angels and Airwaves was more predominant though, but maybe because it was the way Tom sings. I know he said somewhere that the style of AVA is one he really invests in and is the music he wants to create. It's a very space-y, almost melancholic sound that I think doesn't match blink 182's style so it was kind of weird in my ears.

Hearts All Gone is a really good one though. That's the song that I fell in love with at first listen from their album so far.
