ZONE, August, 10 Years Later

In a bit of interesting news, Japanese idol rock band ZONE has returned for the month of August. Originally ZONE debuted in 1999 as a 9 member idol dance group. Though considering how saturated the Japanese market was saturated with dance groups, the group was repackaged as a 4 member rock band in 2001. Sadly in 2005, Zone disbanded. While some of the members joined other bands or tried their hands at other solo efforts. None of them, are currently active. Strangely three of the members Miyu, Maiko, and Tamoka have decided to reform for the month of August. This is due a promise they made and line in their song "secret base ~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~". In the song, they state their belief that "in August, 10 years from now we will meet again". The song was released in 2001 and this month and year is the 10 years later they spoke of. I myself am glad to see them back, even if it is only for this month. With this return, the three members bring with them a new ZONE tribute album and a new song.

To check out the first idol group I was ever officially into check out ZONE's recent performance on the Japanese music show "Coming Soon" in the videos below.

For kicks, here is a video of ZONE from 10 years ago for comparison's sake.
