So the other day, CCM released a part 2 music video to T-ara's "Roly Poly". Since the song itself is still the same, I'm not really going to talk much about the song. Though I will reiterate that is still very fun, upbeat, and catchy. So part 2 of Roly Poly picks up right after . . . no wait it doesn't pick up after anything. This is essentially the same video as part 1. All CCM did was take out all the drama parts, add some new scenes, and then tack on some videos of fans cover the dance to this song. I honestly don't get why this is labled as part 2 as it's really only an alternate version of part 1. The existence of this video essentially makes part 1 pointless.
Why is it pointless you say? Because part 2 does not finish any of the story presented in part 1. Like what happened to the guy and Boram? Who was the old lady? Why is the camera on Jiyeon so much? Why is Hyomin so damn hot in a one piece? Why is Hwayoung even a member of T-ara? Why is her rap the most irrelevant part of this? None of these questions are answered in Part 2. So unless the block of Korean text at the end of part 1 explained any of this, there still so many loose ends left to the Roly Poly story. Damn you CCM for not making an actual legitimate part 2. I want to curse you, your family, your children, and their children. Actually no, I don't really want to do that. I still am rather disappointed though.
So what do we get in part 2 instead? Essentialy part 2 is a reworked version of the song parts of part 1 with some extra cuts added in. Which would have been good if part 1 never existed and this was the only official music video for the song, but sadly this is not the case. Also CCM decided to bring back the "I Go Crazy Because Of You" style of video editing to Roly Poly part 2. Where all the scenes change at a pace of every 1-2 seconds. A pace that could probably induce a seizure to anyone watching this. Seriously the scenes come and go fast that there is no way for your mind to completely register what is going on before the next cut happens. Thus such a rapid succession could overload your mind and like I said probably could induce a seizure. I don't know, I'm not a doctor. But if you're watching the video and start showing symptoms of an epileptic shock, please stop watching the video and call 911. You can thank me later for that advice.
So while the scenes do cut in and out rapidly, you can still notice that a couple new scenes have been added. These scenes consists of 3 separate rooms with different pairings of girls. Room 1 has Boram, Hyomin, and Soyeon. Room 2 has Qri and Jiyeon. While the award for best room goes to room 3 with Eunjung and Hwayoung. Originally I wanted to say that CCM must hate Hwayoung for making her dance in the corner in the background next to the wall, while Eunjung gets the spotlight in the front. Though now I see that this is truly an ingenious plot to get her out there.
You see, while she is in the background and not featured so "prominently", most of the stuff she is doing back there is so ridiculous and laughable that you can't help but notice her. Hell I personally don't even notice register Eunjung in half these shots anymore since my attention is on Hwayoung and all the weird stuff she is doing. I mean you got her doing derp faces, awkward dance moves, dancing while facing a wall,and I'm not entirely sure but I feel like I also saw her hit her head on a disco ball. I mean her presence is just hilarious even if it probably wasn't intentional. As for the other members, all I can say is what's up with Jiyeon checking herself out in a mirror and chewing gum? Oh and they made the bathroom scene in the drama a dance scene now. Everyone knows the women's restroom at a 70's disco night club is the best place to film a dance scene. Wait . . . no it's not . . . what the hell is this?
The rest of the video is a compilation of fans covering the dance in this video, which is a nice touch. Though honestly, I don't really care for it so much. But yeah, you should definitely check out the video below for youself.
