Christmas Escapades 2010

So for Christmas I started the day by attempting to make it to the 8:00 AM Christmas mass at St. Anne Church here in Union City, CA. Though I guess I didn't wake up early enough or got dressed in time, because I was only able to make it to the last 10 mins of that mass.

So after that didn't go quite as planned, I went back home to do some last minute things and kill time before heading off to my dad's place. When I got there, he wasn't ready yet so I ended up killing time waiting for him by watching movies on his On Demand. First, I tried to watch Pan's Labyrinth, but got bored early on and switched it to The Marine. Which was pretty terrible. While it's not the worst movie I've ever seen, John Cena is a terrible actor. Also this movie leads you to the belief that you can survive most explosions that incur in your immediate environment. Although if anything I thought the bad guys were somewhat hilarious. So once my dad was ready, he, Jo and I went to have lunch at Newark Buffet.

So after lunch, we went back to his place and watched more movies on his On Demand. We watched The Protector, which I thought was pretty good, and we watched The Expendables, which I thought was good for what it is. Even though some of the plot made no sense, or how they're all magically friends again with Dolph Lundgren who supposedly was killed earlier in the movie because he tried to kill them. For dinner, we had lumpia and fried egg. Then I capped off the night watching some American Ninja Warrior and explaning to my dad how to do some things on Facebook. That's pretty much it.

St. Anne Festival 2010 Day 2

My camera started malfunctioning again, so I had no choice but to use my cell phone.

St. Anne 8:00 AM Mass Choir Picnic At Lake Del Valle

Hey Lucky Ones,

So yesterday, my friend Andrew invited me and our other friend Kevin to a picnic. Andrew is a member of the choir that does the 8:00 AM mass at St. Anne Church in Union City, CA. The picnic was held at Lake Del Valle in Livermore, CA. It was a nice looking park, nice lake, and what looked like good places to hike. My only complaint was the huge swarm of bee fly looking things that were all over the place. Which was illustrated by me and Kevin being all scared and worried about them while Drew was like super calm about the whole thing. The food there was good and there was lots of fun to be had with their party games and what not. Games like some kind of relay race type thing, tug of war, balloon tossing, and a hip hip hooray game. So yeah, the day consisted of food, games, bee flies, some kind of wild Mexican baptism, and a dude inhaling smoke from dry ice. Pretty interesting indeed.

Some kind of party game that's like rock, paper, scissor that Andrew and Kevin played

Self Explanitory . . .

Andrew all "dolled up"

So the point here is to hit a ball uphill only using a eggplant O_o . . .

So this is the point where Drew let me use his new digital SLR and these are some pics I took with it.

Apparently this was a Mexican Baptism

So after the picnic we went on over to my house and played some PS2, upload some pics, then played Wii. Then after that we met up with our friends James and Vince at our usual spot Venus Cafe in Newark, CA. While we had spent the day at the picnic, James and Vince spent the day in Sonoma at Formula D. James was part of the Scion VIP that was part of the event and his car was on display at the event.

Here's a sample of the 1,000 plus pics James took at Formula D.

So us guys had dinner and reminisced about how our separate events went and how our days were. Also, while we had dinner the restaurant had a dvd playing of a Chinese game show. The game show had a event that was very similar to that new Hole In The Wall game show on FOX. They also had other fun and wacky events. So after watching that and talking for a bit us guys decided to call it a day.
