Orange Caramel - Shanghai Romance [MV]

Orange Caramel is back and they have released a MV for their new song "Shanghai Romance". The song is part of the group's "Asia Of One" series that started with the song "Bangkok City". Personally I found the song to be at best, pretty decent. To match the Chinese theme it does have tinges of elements from Chinese music, yet the main song itself has a pretty driving dance beat. The vocals for the song seem to go well with the instrumentals and the chorus is "mildly" catchy. Overall it's a decent song to listen to, but it's not really that amazing to be honest.

As for the video, I happened to find it slightly hilarious. I mean for the moss part it seems like your general K-Pop video. You got Raina, Nana, and Lizzy. They sing and dance and also try to gain the interest of a male love interest. The video also has the slightly cutesy flair that you would expect from Orange Caramel. Though are a couple of moments in the video that just come off as funny. Though there is one that stands out the most to me in this video. If anyone remembers After School Red's video for "In The Night Sky", there we witnessed a very hot and fierce version of Nana. Though considering the concept for Orange Caramel was never meant to be fierce or sexy, this is the Nana we get instead.

Aside from Nana's weird facial reactions, you also get a weird facial reaction from Lizzy. Also there's a part where Raina gets smacked in the head with a Chinese lantern. Also parts of the dance are also a bit awkward, adding more to the video's unintentional or intentional hilarity.
