Hey Lucky Ones,
I finally found some time this morning to venture off to the local cinema to catch the movie Iron Man. Iron man tells the story of billionaire Tony Stark and his journey in becoming the Marvel Superhero Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr does a great job portraying the billionaire playboy who's eyes are opened to the destruction his company is inadvertently causing after being taken hostage by a terrorist group the ten rings. To aid in his new found mission, he develops a powered armor suit based on a suit he built to escape his captors in Afghanistan. Little does he know someone close to him gains knowledge of the original suit and wants to build an army of these iron mongers and only Stark can stop him.
The visuals and cg in the movie were done very well and you could hardly tell when it was real or cg. The story also for the most part stayed focused to the Iron Man lore updating it and keeping the essence of the character there. The action is great and show that Iron Man isn't too be messed with, though a little more time in the mark III suit would have been great. Also, the final battle could have been played a lot better. Overall, this is a great movie compared to the last few lackluster Marvel superheroes movies released. Also, as a Marvel comic fan it reinvigorates my interest in watching more movies based on Marvel characters. Iron Man is definitely a great way to start the summer movie season for 2008.
P.S.: If you don't know yet . . . stay till the credits are over!
